[0:59] Is it Ray and Winston are performing at a children's birthday party?

[1:02] I think so, yes.

[1:02] Yeah, yeah. So that's kind of what the level of what Scales has been able to do lately.

Stuart Wellington

[1:07] So you have been hired by a local booze baron and casino owner to find a missing employee of his.

[1:17] Hubert Miller has hired the three of you based on a recommendation of his son, Denton Miller.

[1:26] Wait a minute.

[1:28] Is this related to any other Denton from the previous adventure?

[1:32] Yes, it was Denton from the previous adventure.

[1:34] Oh, wow.

[1:34] Oh, good to hear from Denton again.

Elliott Kalan

[1:36] Didn't we abuse him a lot?

[1:38] He abused himself mostly.

[1:39] Oh!

[1:40] Oh!

Stuart Wellington

[1:41] So Hubert Miller has hired you to find an employee of his, a solicitor by the name of Rebecca Kretsch,

[1:46] who he had sent to a nearby coastal town, Connors Ferry.

[1:55] And she, after checking in with him, she disappeared along with a sizable portion of money that he had sent with her.

[2:06] And you've been hired to-

[2:08] He sent her to do what?

[2:09] He sent her to the town to make an offer to buy some real estate.

[2:14] Gotcha.

[2:16] And you, in addition to a sizable bonus upon finding information about the whereabouts of Miss Kretsch and the money,

[2:26] he's also offered a pretty nice, like a daily expenses package for the three of you.

[2:33] It's a much better job than you've been hired for in the last year or so.

[2:40] Yeah, we'll take it.

[2:41] So you find yourselves-

[2:42] I'm good.

[2:43] You find yourselves-

Elliott Kalan

[2:44] Wait, so what would have happened if we didn't take it?

Stuart Wellington

[2:48] Well, I mean, I didn't give you the option, so that's-

[2:50] There's a part of improv where you just yes and go with it.

[2:55] So you-

[2:57] I would have ended up in the coal mine.

[2:58] Yep.

[2:59] You find yourselves in Tanzer's automobile, I'm assuming, unless you've sold it to-

[3:05] And you're taking the train.

[3:06] No, no, no.

[3:07] I still keep that.

Stuart Wellington

[3:09] So you find yourselves in Tanzer's automobile, late afternoon, driving up to Connors Ferry.

[3:17] Now, have you guys done any preparation?

[3:21] Have you done any research?

[3:23] What would you have done before, you know, taking-

[3:26] Like, before heading out to a new town to investigate this job?

Elliott Kalan

[3:30] I mean, we probably would have, I assumed, investigated Rebecca Kretsch a little bit.

[3:34] To see if there's any, if she had any shady stuff going on that we would know about.

[3:39] Because my first instinct as a detective is that she took the money and ran away.

[3:44] And so, like, is she in any trouble that she would need money for?

[3:48] Does the-

[3:48] Was there any history-

[3:49] Does she have any criminal history or does she have any relatives or friends or connections

[3:53] that would lead her to just suddenly betray her employer and that kind of stuff?

[3:57] So I've asked around about Rebecca Kretsch.

Stuart Wellington

[4:00] So you start asking around in all the pot shops and the-

[4:03] And back out.

[4:04] Outside of all the cabarets that won't let you in, just through the windows.

[4:07] Exactly, yeah.

[4:08] So we're gonna do a little roll for that.

[4:10] What you're gonna do is you're gonna take one basic die.

[4:12] What-

[4:13] And how are you doing?

Elliott Kalan

[4:14] Do you have an appropriate trait that would fit this action, Elliot?

[4:18] I think-

[4:19] I mean, the trait would be detective.

[4:21] Yep, that works.

[4:22] And you have an appropriate tag.

[4:23] A die for detective, and then I would use investigation and questioning.

Stuart Wellington

[4:27] Okay, and then if you want to add any dice from your pool, you can add that as well.

[4:32] And you're gonna want-

[4:33] You're gonna want three successes.

[4:35] So-

[4:35] Oh, okay.

[4:35] So you'll probably want to roll like six or seven dice.

Elliott Kalan

[4:38] Okay, so I'm gonna add-

[4:40] Then I'll add three from my pool.

Stuart Wellington

[4:42] And I'm assuming you're doing this on your own without the help of these two guys who

[4:45] are probably doing their own part of investigating, or not.

Elliott Kalan

[4:48] Oh, yeah.

[4:49] I don't-

[4:50] I don't want to reveal my-

[4:51] I think my-

[4:52] Guys, as much as I enjoy-

[4:55] Well, tolerate your company,

[4:56] I think my secretive confidential informants would be a little thrown off by me walking around

[5:04] with a rich jerk and a drug-addicted weirdo.

[5:07] So I think I'll do this on my own.

[5:14] I'd like to do these investigations without being interrupted by a beeping dishwasher,

[5:18] so I think I'll just go on my own.

[5:20] Okay, so I'll roll then, right?

[5:22] Uh-huh, yep.

[5:25] And what do I need?

[5:26] How many four, fives, and sixes did you roll?

Elliott Kalan

[5:28] I have two fours and one six.

Stuart Wellington

[5:31] Perfect.

[5:32] That's gonna be enough.

[5:33] So you, after asking around, you-

[5:36] The name-

[5:37] And the name sounded familiar to you.

[5:40] And when-

[5:41] After asking around in a couple of back alleys,

[5:43] and talking to your favorite lowlife, Dougie,

[5:47] You're reminded that-

[5:51] Ah, Dougie, you're my favorite of all the lowlifes.

[5:55] You're reminded that Rebecca Kretsch is better known as Bloody Becky,

[6:00] and that she's a mob enforcer in town,

[6:04] and that she, after coming back from the war,

[6:09] has been making a name for herself,

[6:11] breaking legs,

[6:13] most likely in the employ of one Hubert Miller.

Elliott Kalan

[6:17] Now, my question is,

[6:18] so coming back from the war,

[6:19] was she a nurse,

[6:19] or did she pretend to be a man?

[6:21] This is before women were serving on the front lines.

Stuart Wellington

[6:24] In this world, Elliot,

[6:25] a world with aliens,

[6:27] women are serving on the front lines.

[6:29] Okay, well that's great.
