Feed Drop - FH Commentary Bracket, Round One
Transcript
[0:00]
Hey everyone, I'm just checking in, as I said, we're going to do a couple of feed drops
[0:11]
to keep people up to date on the state of the bracket, trying to decide what commentary
[0:19]
for a previous Flophouse bad movie we will include on the bonus feed for MaxFun members
[0:27]
this year.
[0:29]
This was all explained in the last mini, what's going on, where you can vote, all that stuff.
[0:37]
If you're not listening to the minis, why not?
[0:39]
You're missing stuff like this, a lot of great stuff.
[0:44]
Honestly, yeah, we get a little fewer people on the minis, listen to the minis, there's
[0:50]
good stuff on there.
[0:52]
Anyway, for those of you who have been following it, this is the state of the bracket, Bratz
[1:00]
won out over Fateful Findings.
[1:02]
We got 52% Bratz, Fateful Findings 48%.
[1:08]
This was a battle of the titans, a lot of people were like, you know, finding fault
[1:13]
with our seeding, being like, why did you put this against this?
[1:16]
I think it should be clear to loyal listeners by now, we know nothing of sports things.
[1:22]
I'm sorry if we did it wrong.
[1:24]
You know, if we do this again, maybe we'll seek out some advice from the experts, but
[1:29]
this was a random seed that we would have tweaked if we thought that things were far
[1:36]
too unbalanced.
[1:40]
There's at least one unbalanced race in this, and I think you can guess what it is once
[1:44]
we get to it, but it was impossible to not have that somewhere along the line.
[1:51]
But anyway, Bratz won out over Fateful Findings, a lot of controversy, I had forgotten that
[1:56]
we did eventually release our Bratz Riff Show after some depressing events in history.
[2:09]
But you know what, a riff show is a little different from what a commentary is, so Bratz
[2:15]
still in the game.
[2:18]
Next we have the Country Bears, Country Bears won out 54% to 45%, there's some decimals
[2:28]
in there that I neglected, but Country Bears won out over the Happening.
[2:35]
And then moving down, despite Stewart's best efforts to put his thumb on the scales, Foodfight
[2:43]
still won over Talking Cat, Foodfight is the victor, 50.2% to 49.8%.
[2:52]
I think that was the closest of any of the races.
[2:59]
And then in sort of the Dark Horse bracket, we got Street Fighter, the Legend of Chun-Li
[3:04]
won out over Easy Ride or the Ride Back, 59 to 41.
[3:10]
And then we got the Wicker Man vs. I Know Who Killed Me, the Wicker Man won out, despite
[3:16]
being a pretty boring movie, I gotta admit, 58.8% to I Know Who Killed Me's 41.2%.
[3:27]
Thanks to everyone who tweeted at me letting me know that I've been saying low and right
[3:31]
all these years, and that Elliot and Stewart were wrong, as they frequently are, to mock
[3:38]
me.
[3:39]
Then we got, you were kinder in this next round, this next race, than the Foodfight
[3:45]
one, Tango and Cash won out over the Oogieloves and the Big Balloon Adventure, it was 54.5%
[3:53]
to 45.5%.
[3:56]
Thank you for that one, I remember Stewart lying on the floor writhing in pain during
[4:02]
the Oogieloves, so at least you showed us a little bit of mercy there.
[4:09]
One of the bigger spreads, we got Serenity won out over No Deposit, that's 59.8% over
[4:16]
40.2%.
[4:19]
And then, of course, I think we all saw it coming, the blowout of round one, Cats won
[4:28]
out over Geostorm, 73.2% over 26.8%.
[4:37]
Which means that going into the next round, the matchups that we'll be seeing are Bratz
[4:44]
versus the Country Bears, that's a big battle there, Foodfight!
[4:53]
Versus Street Fighter, The Legend of Chun-Li, I am pretty sure I know how that one's going
[5:00]
to go, and Stewart's not going to be happy.
[5:04]
We've got the Wicker Man versus Tango and Cash, real heavy hitters, and then we've got
[5:09]
Serenity versus Cats.
[5:14]
Those are the standings.
[5:15]
Again, if you want more detail on what's going on, go to the previous Flophouse mini-episode,
[5:24]
voting in the next rounds will start next week, over at the Flophouse's Twitter, which
[5:30]
can be found at TheFlophousePod on Twitter.
[5:35]
I know a lot of you try and stay away from Twitter, understand, probably a great choice.
[5:42]
Apologies that that's where we're doing the voting, but it was the easiest way to reach
[5:48]
the widest number of our followers.
[5:52]
You know, if you don't like Twitter, again, understand.
[5:55]
But you can always get on there, get a burner account, vote, and then ignore it every time
[6:01]
in the future.
[6:03]
But yeah, that's the state of the Flophouse bracket.
[6:07]
I hope everyone is managing to find, I don't know, some fun in the world as things are
[6:17]
going to shit in multiple ways.
[6:20]
But we hope that we can divert you with our silliness.
[6:26]
So thanks for participating, and a whole full episode on being the Ricardos will drop tomorrow,
[6:35]
so look forward to that.
[6:36]
For The Flophouse, I've been me, Dan McCoy.
